Kicking off my senior session season with none other than Samson McGargle himself!
Just two years ago, I had the privilege of capturing Samson's sister, Eve, at these same places that we captured Samson at! One of my favorite parts of being a photographer are the full circle moments like these. It is always special to work with a senior and their family at locations that are special and unique to them. Samson's session was a great example.
In discussion with Samson and his family, his only ask was photos with his lamb to showcase his passion for agriculture and the sheep industry. And, if anyone knows me... I was ALL IN!
As I neared the McGargle Family's home, I could see Samson, his siblings and his mom ready to go with the freshly washed lamb. How cool! Right then and there, I knew it was going to be a great session!
As we began the session, it was as if Samson summoned all the animals to join in on the fun. In the matter of 5 minutes, we had the intended lamb, Ladybird the adorable dog and a lovely cat. So naturally, we included them in some portraits.
Talking more with Samson, it was exciting to hear all about his experiences in agriculture, ranging from being a member of the Blue Juniata FFA, to equipping the Huntingdon County Fair with life-saving AEDS for his diamond clover 4-H project, to his many successes in livestock judging--I know the future of agriculture is bright! Capturing portraits with his market lamb were a great way to only begin representing his plethora of agricultural interests and accomplishments.
Later on in the session, we added Samson's dirt bike into some of his images, which were so fun! Don't let his serious face fool you... he did share some smiles and laughs as we went throughout!
We ended the session at a family member's farm where Samson was "up close and personal" with some friendly beef cattle, utilized the beautiful landscape of the farm, and incorporated a tractor into some more meaningful senior portraits.
It was a PERFECT evening to kick off senior session season. Samson is an incredible senior with a bright future. In addition to his agricultural accolades, Samson is also a Hornets football player and plans to attend a Junior College for agribusiness, with plans to compete on a collegiate livestock judging team.
Samson, thank you for trusting me to capture these precious moments for your senior year! I cannot wait to add to your gallery with some images from the Huntingdon County Fair in a few weeks! Have the BEST senior year!
