Josh is on the blog!
We had such a fun evening for Josh's senior session. His entire family joined in on the event, which always makes it more special. When we were discussing Josh's vision for the session, he shared wanting to capture most of the images at his grandparents' farm in areas that were special to him. After that, he wanted to get a few at school to represent his athletic interests.
So, we started the session at the farm. Josh wanted some images in the woods and with his rifle and shotgun, so we headed up towards Shade Mountain. Right at the foot of the mountain, his grandparents had this shed and it was PERFECT for some photos. The sun was just peeking through in the background. I couldn't believe how beautiful the evening turned out to be to capture these.
From there, we got Josh's *NEW* car in the photos and mosied around the farm for some more portraits. I just love the images at the silo and the woodpile for some unique textures and backgrounds. We ended the session at the farm with some portraits by his pap's antique dump truck. I was so impressed that it so easily fired up and we were able to use it for Josh's photos.
You see, senior portraits are all about being special to you. Josh's session was no exception and was full of special moments that make him who he is.
Now, we thought we could make it to the high school before it got dark. But, daylight savings time got us. The closer we got to the school.... the darker it was. It was so dark that my camera would not focus on anything in the poor light. So, we decided to capture his photos at the school a different night. But, as I looked at the pole-lit parking lot... I had an idea. I am not a photographer that enjoys dark shots. We gave it a shot anyways and I am in awe of how they turned out. I mean just look at those parking lot shots.... I think Josh's basketball/athletic vibe goes perfectly with the neat lighting. Maybe I should try it more often?!
And, as promised, we finished Josh's session a different morning with some portraits at the school. Believe it or not, it was 40 degrees, freezing cold and frost was on the grass. It was all worth it, though, to capture these fun images for Josh.
Josh is an involved high school student as a member of the basketball team, cross country team, FFA and more. Josh plans to attend Penn Tech to further his education in a power, structure and technical career. Thank you Josh for choosing Priceless Pixels to capture this milestone. We are looking forward to your second session in the spring!
